Test version turned into version 2 - please use v2 unless you're having issues - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=594903713
---
BTW all, I know there's an issue with the Ghillie suit engrams in this version. Just use the "test" version as it will probably end up being the main version in the end.
Reduces all harvest, melee & shooting camera shaking by 80%.
Note : To those who keep on pointing out the "Camera Shake Scale" in options - The setting in options does NOT change the camera shaking for harvesting, melee & shooting.
This means less shaking when harvesting, using melee weapons and shooting. You might just be able to see your arrows flying through the air!
Most importantly though, it would help those that get sick from all the involuntary camera movement. I don't get sick myself but my wife get's affected by the shaking really quick.
---
Update : I've looked at making this mod stackable but it would require modding every single item with the shake animation, engram to create the item, and station that creates the item to be modded. If you can't use the TC try hacking it from step 3.
Also, if you're using it successfully(without TC) keep subbed, hopefully with a lot of subs and favs the devs would look into changing this sooner that later.
---
First, I apologize for taking so long to make this simple mod but I've been extremely busy. Secondly I'll not be using this mod as I have my own personal mod with my own cooking and deployment scheme bypassing the devkit/workshop standard scheme. That being said, I'll not know when/if the mod stops working so please bare with me. Hopefully some day the devs will find it important enough to link the shake slider to all the common camera shakes making the need for this mod redundant.
Since I'm no modding 'pro' the only reliable way I know of to get this(the asset files) to you guys is via a Total Conversion. You don't need to use the Total Conversion after it's been installed as you can disable the TC and overwrite the files in the original game folders. You'll also have to remove the cache files else the overwrites would not take effect. Bit of a pain I know but currently the only way without having to start up as a TC.
1) Activate the No Shaky Shaky Total Conversion.
2) Use as is if you're not using other Total Conversions.
{And if you don't want to use the TC continue to 3}
(I'm not sure if modifying the assets directly constitutes "tampering" so just be aware of that before going ahead with the steps below.)
3) Disable the No Shaky Shaky mod.
4) Locate the of your ARK local files.
In steam, r-click “Ark Survival Evolved” and select properties. In “Local Files” tab, click “Browse Local Files...”
My ARK root is – C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ARK
5) Removing the cache files. (WARNING-cache files can be pretty big so if you internet is capped, be careful about verifying and updating)
Edit : Latest updated now uses SeekFreeContent folder.
a) Navigate to\ShooterGame\SeekFreeContent\
b) I'm no longer sure which cache files contains the shake assets but my deployment app deletes the following.
.\SeekFreeContent\PrimalEarth\CoreBlueprints\PrimalGameData_BP.uasset (try this first)
.\SeekFreeContent\Maps\TheIslandSubMaps\PersistentGameplay*.* & TheIsland.bin
You can experiment and let me know which file(s) should be deleted and I'll update the description.
6) Overwrite the old shake asset files.
a) Locate the mod folder with asset files. e.g. C:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Content\Mods\579723034\ShooterGame\Content\PrimalEarth\General\*Shake.uasset
b) Copy the asset files into C:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Content\PrimalEarth\General\. You're of course more than welcome to pick only the assets you want to overwrite.
Good Luck!
